Patients Over 75 Years Old
Health checks were available every two years for patients over 75 years old. Sadly, there is currently a moratorium on this service

Although Community Staff have, in the past,  visited patients who cannot attend the surgeries, this service has now been withdrawn by the PCT.

Patients aged between 16 and 75 can have a check with the Practice Nurse every three years if they have not seen a doctor in that time.

Holiday vaccinations can be arranged by appointment with the Practice Nurses who can provide travel holiday health advice. Please plan ahead and, if possible, make your first appointment at least two months before your departure date. The Practice charges a fee for administering the more unusual immunizations that are not available on the NHS.
These include

  • Meningitis A and C
  • Japanese Encephalitis
  • Rabies
  • Hepatitis B
  • Tick Borne Encephalitis
  • Diphtheria.

Flu Clinics In 2009 start in October

We recommend that patients who are either over the age of 65, or who have chronic diseases eg, heart disease, chronic lung disease, diabetes and asthma, receive the flu vaccine.  Side effects of the vaccine are minimal but complications from the flu can be severe. We would encourage you to have this vaccine therefore.
