Contraceptive Services
The Practice provides contraceptive services including: emergency contraception, coil and implant fitting.
Antenatal Clinics
The Midwives’ Antenatal clinic is at Guiseley on Tuesday afternoons. Appointments may be made at Reception. The Menston midwives are based at the new Children's Centre, behind the library. Midwives are responsible for all aspects of health care from conception to one month postnatal.
Minor Surgery
Minor surgery can be carried out at both Medical Centres by individual arrangement with the Doctor.
Hypertension Clinic
Hypertension clinics are run by the Practice Nurses, who check and monitor blood pressure. Appointments can be made at any time during the Nurses’ consultation sessions.
COPD and Asthma Clinics
COPD and ASthma Clinics are held at both Medical Centres under the supervision of the Practice Nurses. Appointments can be made at any time during the Nurses' consultation sessions.
Diabetes Clinic
Diabetes clinic for type 2 diabetes under the Practice’s care by invitation.
Health-Wise Screening Clinic
These clinics are run by the Practice Nurses and appointments may be made through the receptionists.
Checks include:

blood pressure - urine tests if applicable
- for female patients, cervical smears.
Practice Nurses can also advise on smoking, diet, exercise and alcohol consumption. Appointments can be made at any time during the Nurses’ consultation sessions.
Teenage Health Clinic
This clinic provides a service designed specifically for teenagers with the aim of promoting healthy living and increasing health awareness amongst teenagers. Appointments can be made at any time during the Nurses’ consultation sessions.
Patients Over 75 Years Old
Health checks are available every two years for patients over 75 years old.
Although Community Staff have, in the past, visited patients who cannot attend the surgeries, this service has now been withdrawn by the PCT.
Patients aged between 16 and 75 can have a check with the Practice Nurse every three years if they have not seen a doctor in that time.
Travel Immunizations
Holiday vaccinations can be arranged by appointment with the Practice Nurses who can provide travel holiday health advice. Please plan ahead and, if possible, make your first appointment at least two months before your departure date. The Practice charges a fee for administering the more unusual immunizations that are not available on the NHS.
These include
- Meningitis A and C
- Japanese Encephalitis
- Rabies
- Hepatitis B
- Tick Borne Encephalitis
- Diphtheria.
